Turquoise Mesa Winery
This project started as an assignment in early 2020 in an Illustrator class. The assignment was to choose a local winery and create an innovative label and box design for them. After weeks of research, visiting the winery and taking many photos, I came up with a design for their Black Muscat wine. The design was inspired by evenings under the starry nights in southern Colorado.
After the class had ended, I used this assignment as a jumping off point to do an entire rebranding as a project for my portfolio. I used my research and an interview with the owner to inform how to approach designing a new logo, website and several wine labels. It was a fun and informed project filled with learning new ways to make a design more dynamic. Using a specific palette and design patterns I explored different ways of representing flavors, styles and feelings. The designs needed to be informed by the landscape that influenced the owner to start the winery in the first place.
